The anticipation for the 2024-2025 men’s soccer season is building as USU Eastern announces its schedule. The Eagles, under the leadership of Head Coach Ryan Thompson, are ready to take on their opponents in a season that promises excitement and competition.

USU Eastern will begin their season with a series of away games, starting with a scrimmage against Utah Valley University on August 13th at 11:00 a.m. in Orem, UT. Following this, they will face Westminster University in Salt Lake City on August 18th.  Eastern will continue their non-conference play with away matches against Western Nebraska Community College on August 22nd in Scottsbluff, NE, and Casper College on August 23rd in Casper, WY. These early games will be crucial in setting the tone for the season.

The home opener is set for September 7th at 3:30 p.m. against the Snow College Badgers at the Castleview Hospital Soccer Field in Price. This match marks the beginning of a series of important Scenic West matchups.  The Eagles will then travel to face Colorado Northwestern Community College on September 12th and Salt Lake Community College on September 14th.

A critical stretch of home games awaits Eastern, starting with a match against Pacific Northwest Christian College on September 19th, followed by North Idaho College on September 21st. The team will also host the College of Southern Idaho on September 26th and Truckee Meadows Community College on September 28th.  On their path to the postseason, they will have another bout against Snow College on October 5th in Ephraim, UT, and will then host Colorado Northwestern Community College on October 10th and Salt Lake Community College on October 12th, before embarking on a challenging road trip.

The team will travel to play Pacific Northwest Christian College on October 17th in Kennewick, WA, followed by North Idaho College on October 19th in Coeur d’Alene, ID. The final regular season games will be away matches against College of Southern Idaho on October 24th and Truckee Meadows Community College on October 26th.

The Region 18 Tournament is scheduled for October 31st, with the location to be determined by the conference champion. Success in the SWAC tournament will be crucial for the Eagles’ aspirations of advancing to the NJCAA DI National Tournament, which will be held at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas, from November 17-23, 2024.

Coach Thompson expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and potential for the upcoming season.  “We are very excited to get the 2024 season. We have a lot of new faces coming in who are eager to make a name for themselves in the SWAC. We as a group believe that we have solid talent and if we can put it together properly we can make a run for 1st in the conference.”

USU Eastern is calling on their fans to support them throughout the season, especially during the crucial home games. The energy and enthusiasm of the home crowd can provide a significant boost to the team’s performance.
