The Lady Spartan soccer squad was back on the pitch on Tuesday when they traveled to Delta to face the Rabbitts. Emery is still searching for their first win under new head coach Pennie Stewart. On their road trip, Delta jumped out in the first half to take the lead and never relinquished it taking the 2-0 win over Emery.
The Lady Spartans fall to 0-12 overall and 0-9 in Region 12 play and are now sitting in the No. 17 spot in the latest RPI with just five contests left until the regular season comes to a close on October 8.
The Rabbitts came out in the first half and worked their way around the Lady Spartan defense finding the back of the net twice.
In the second half, the Spartans were not ready to give up as they increased their defensive intensity, but so did the Rabbitts as they were able to keep Emery off the board and claim the 2-0 shutout.
Emery will welcome the Manti Templars to Castle Dale on Thursday. Manti sits at 11-1 overall and holds an 8-1 mark in Region 12 play, They also hold possession of the No. 2 spot in the RPI, just ahead of fellow Region 12 member Canyon View, who sits in the No. 3 spot.
On August 22, the Lady Spartans traveled to Manti. The Templars handed Emery a 12-0 loss.
