On Tuesday night, The Spartan Center was full of action, as the No. 1 team in 3A was in town to take on the Lady Spartans. Emery came out and earned a win in the opening set but the Canyon View Falcons took the next three to win 3-1.

Emery has made it this far in the season earning an 8-5 overall record and sits at 3-3 in Region 12 play, they also hold the No. 4 spot in the latest RPI rankings. Nine games remain on the schedule before the season comes to a close on October 22.

The Lady Spartans came out in the first set looking to set the tone against the Falcons and took a win in the first set 26-24. In the second set, Canyon View retook whatever momentum Emery had by taking a close win 25-18.

Set three was not as competitive with Canyon View earning a lopsided 25-12 victory, and then the Falcons closed out Emery in set four which was another battle 25-22.

Thursday Emery travels to Price to face the Carbon Lady Dinos. Carbon is sitting at 5-9 overall and holds a 2-4 record in region play, they also hold the No. 15 spot in the latest RPI. This will be the first meeting between the two squads this season.

Last year the two squared off with each team winning on their home court.

Gametime Thursday is set for 6:30 p.m. in the gym at Carbon High.
