On Tuesday night the Lady Dino volleyball squad kicked off their homecoming week as they welcomed the Richfield Wildcats to the gym at Carbon High School. Every match was close but in the end, it was Richfield who walked away with the 3-1 win in region play.
Carbon sits at 6-12 overall with a 3-7 record in a very tough Region 12, with seven members seated in the top 15 of the current RPI including Carbon at No. 15. Richfield is in the No. 11 position.
The Wildcats came out taking a victory in the first set by the score of 25-17, but the Lady Dinos jumped back in the second half to earn a 26-24 win to tie up the match. The third set turned out to be a battle as it went down to the wire however the Wildcats earned a 28-26 win.
The fourth and final set was competitive as well but the Wildcats claimed the 25-17 win and the match win at 3-1.
Carbon will be at home again on Thursday when the Delta Rabbits (9-9,4-6, and No. 10 in the RPI) come to Price. Back on September 10, the Lady Dinos traveled to Delta taking a 3-2 win.
Game time for Thursday’s match-up is set for 6:30 p.m..
