The Lady Dino wrestling squad got back on the mats on Tuesday in Roosevelt to face the Union Cougars. Carbon earned wins in six matches but the Cougars would go on to take the win 42-36.
Last season the Dinos earned a seventh-place finish at the State Championships in Richfield in February. They have a good mix of returning wrestlers this season along with some new faces.
Gabriela Bencomo would get things started taking a win by forfeit in the 100-pound weight class. Kallie Lafler followed suit in the 110 class taking another forfeited win. Chloe Parker in the 120-pound class took a win over Union’s Graysie Avila by fall. Sienna Alderson earned another win by fall against Omeira Serawop at 125 pounds.
Emma Parker claimed a forfeit victory in the 135-pound weight class, and Rickelle Collins took the win over Ijada Mahkewa by fall in the 155 class.
The Lady Dinos will get back at it on Wednesday, December 4 at home against the Juab Wasps.
