The Carbon Lady Dinos fell to the North Summit Braves 56-46 in the team’s first action since the Christmas Break Friday evening in Coalville.
Playing in their first game since Dec. 21, the Lady Dinos entered riding a three-game winning streak. North Summit outscored Carbon in three of the four quarters, including a 20-12 mark in the first. The two team’s played nearly even from the second quarter on.
Abbie Saccomanno stuffed the stat sheet with a team best 14 points to go along with five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Kelsey Sorenson record 10 points and eight rebounds. Jodi Noyes chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.
Kennady McQueen delivered a dominated performance for North Summit, posting a game-high 31 points on top of eight rebounds. McQueen was the only North Summit player to reach double-figures, while two others finished with six.
Friday’s non-region loss dips Carbon to 8-4 overall. Sitting 2-1 in Region 14 play, the Lady Dinos remain just one game behind Juab and Union in the loss column.
Carbon will return to the Thursday evening with a home region tilt against Maeser Prep. Thursday’s opponent is currently win-less in league action at 0-2.
