The local Soroptimist International of Price group is excited to be hosting their 47th Annual Charity Benefit on Friday, November 22 at 7:00 pm at the Carbon Country Club. This annual affair is open to anyone over the age of 21 years old as there will be adult beverages served during the event.

“Soroptimist is an international organization, they’re main goal is to better the lives of women and children and specifically here in Price we have different things that we do to help out the people in our community and that’s basically what we do,” said Soroptimist Member, Stephanie Cha. Any individuals interested in being a part of the Soroptimist International of Price can attend their monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Carbon Country Club.

Another great service the group assists with is helping women continue their education. “We do a Live Your Dream award and we have different women apply that are head of household that are going back to school. The money I believe its a $1,000.00 if they win first place, it just varies from year to year, sometimes its $500.00,” said Cha. Other projects that the Soroptimist group have helped with in the past have been the Women’s Shelter, The East Carbon Clinic, and Eastern Utah Women’s Health Clinic.

Tickets for the event are $35.00 per person and includes a four-course meal that will be served between 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Pre-sale tickets are available from any Soroptimist Member and at the Carbon Country Club or they will be available at the door on the day of the event.
