
Sitting at 4-1 winners of three of their last four games, the Carbon Dino boys basketball team welcomed the South Summit Wildcats to Price on Friday night. After three quarters it looked as though the Dinos would walk away with this one, the Wildcats came clawing back in the fourth but the Dinos held on to win by two 59-57.
The Dinos were wrapping up the week after a 64-52 win against Union on the road on Monday night the Dinos were supposed to faced off at North Sevier on Tuesday night in Salina that was cancelled, they met up with the Wildcats on Friday night. Carbon would hold a 30-26 lead going in to the locker room at halftime. In the third, it seemed as if the Dinos were going to runaway with this one but a strong fourth quarter from the Wildcats, in which they outscored the Dinos 25-15, made Carbon claw back for the 59-57 win.
Caleb Winfree led the way for the Dinos with 21 and grabbing five rebounds. Senior Preston Condie added 13 points while grabbing nine rebounds and Keenan Hatch dropped in ten points and pulled down five rebounds.
Taylor Limb scored 16 in the loss for South Summit. Payton Sanderson dropped down 14 and Kevin Timothy had 13.
The Dinos will take to the floor in Price on Tuesday night against the 5-1 Juab Wasps. They will then be off until January 5th when they welcome the Judge Memorial Bulldogs .
