The Price City Desert Wave Pool is a place to have fun and enjoy the amenities that they offer the community. Aquatics Supervisor, Tamara Gray stopped by Castle Country Radio to talk about rentals and upcoming life guard classes.
“We have a lot of people right now with what’s going on are feeling a little bit more comfortable renting out the pool exclusively for their parties so we do have that available. Not just the wave pool but we rent out our Wibit, our indoor pool obstacle course for birthday parties. It’s only $150.00, you get two hours in the indoor pool and exclusively just for your group,” stated Gray. The rates for rental of the wave pool start at $125.00 per hour, the indoor pool starts at $35.00 per hour. The hourly rates increase by the number of individuals that will attend the private party. A perk that you’ll receive with your rental is free tube rentals throughout the party.
If you would rather just have a birthday party during normal hours you still will need to make a reservation. “We are doing birthday parties as well, like I said we haven’t hit up to our compacity yet. So we do like you to call ahead and let us know you’re coming so we can keep track of our numbers so we are staying within that number. But yea just give us a call, we are doing our reserved parties, so you can get a reserved table with balloons, ice cream cups, small drinks, or we call it a do-it-yourself party where you can bring your own cake and ice cream. We have freezers there to store your ice cream and then we just give you a group rate,” explained Gray. The Desert Wave Pool is preparing for their life guard classes set to begin on February 16 at 3:30 pm. “Now usually I only teach these once maybe twice a year, that’s coming up it will start on February 16, the class is afterschool. There are prerequisites to take the class, you have to be at least 15 years old. You have to obviously be able to swim. You have to be able to swim 300 yards without stopping. Do a brick swim and tread water. So you can come practice if you feel you can’t do those things but they’re pretty doable,” said Gray. The cost to take the class is $150.00 and the certification is good for two years.
