The Green River Pirate boys basketball squad made the trip to Moab on Monday night to take on the Grand County Red Devils. The Pirates entered the contest on a three game skid and unfortunately the slide would continue as they fell 98-65.

Grand County sits at 15-1 and is ranked No. 3 in the State RPI. They are winners of three in a row, and are rolling through Region 12 play.

The Red Devils jumped out in the first half, scoring at will and going in to the locker room up 61-33. The second half was more balanced as the Red Devils outscored the Pirates by just five points.

Rad Hughes led the way for the Pirates scoring 36 points. Jordan Anderson added 10 while Payton Romero and Alex Mendez chipped in with seven points each.

Green River can take a break now as they will not be taking to the court again until Friday when they will welcome Utah Military Academy to town. These two teams faced off back on January 6 with the Pirates taking the win 67-66.

On Tuesday the will travel to Price to face the Pinnacle Panthers.

We will have updates on these games as they become available, check back with castlecountryradio.com
