Despite a furious fourth quarter rally, the Emery Lady Spartans fell just short of the South Sevier Rams in 46-43 setback Tuesday night on the road in Monroe.
Entering the contest as the last unbeaten team in Region 12, the Lady Spartans trailed 38-19 entering the fourth quarter. The shooting woes vanished as Emery outscored the Rams 24-8 in the final eight minutes, but could not overcome the massive deficit.
Tambrie Tuttle ended with a team-high 12 points as the Lady Spartans dipped to 4-1 in league play and 7-4 overall. Addie Lester scored nine points and Baylee Jacobson finished with eight.
Tuesday’s loss ends a four game winning streak that started at the beginning of league play with a 12-point win on the road against Richfield on Jan. 7.
South Sevier delivered a well balanced offensive performance led by Presley Chapell’s 12 points. Alexa Robinson chipped in with nine, while Leah Torgerson poured in eight.
