
Daniel J. Valdez, 93, passed away April 10, 2021 at his home in Price.
He was born October 7, 1927 in Monero, New Mexico to Celestino and Delfina Martinez Valdez. On November 27, 1948, he married Ramona Maria Salazar at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helper.
Daniel was a member of the Catholic Church. He was a proud member of the Mexican Lodge and also served as Vice-President of the SOCIO Lodge. Daniel was an avid sports enthusiast who loved his Utah Jazz and the Colorado Rockies. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing with his family. Daniel will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Ramona Valdez, Price; two daughters and one son, Dorothy Dunbar, Anchorage, AK, Jim Valdez, Price, Naomi (Marvin) Montoya, Salt Lake City; brother, Robert Valdez, Las Vegas, NV; sister, Stella Gutierrez, Helper; 30 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a community of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters and two sons, Harold Valdez, Elaine Sandoval, Don Sanchez and Cheryl Hess; five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Mass, Thursday, April 15, 2021, 10:00 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service, Wednesday evening 7:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday and Thursday one hour prior to services where everyone is required to wear face masks. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
