
The final Utah High School Activities Association’s RPI rankings for 3A baseball were released Wednesday morning, setting the stage for the State Championship Tournament, which will begin Saturday afternoon.
The Juab Wasps earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament as they finished with a 21-2 record, running their RPI to 0.776. Judge Memorial earned the No. 2 seed as they accumulated an 18-3 record during the season. Union and Carbon rounded out the top four.
Each of the top four teams will host a pod in the opening round of the tournament, adding to the importance of grabbing a top spot. The 3A classification is comprised of 18 teams, 16 of which qualified for the season ending tournament. Region 12 schools Grand and San Juan were left out as they finished 17 and 18.
The true double-elimination format will begin Saturday afternoon at the four home locations of the top seeds. One of the four schools in each pod will be eliminated by the evening, narrowing the field down to 12 before next week.

Juab High School:
#1 Juab VS #16 South Summit- 12:30 p.m.
#8 Morgan VS #9 Emery- 9:00 a.m.
Carbon High School:
#4 Carbon VS #13 South Sevier- 12:00 p.m.
#5 Grantsville VS #12 Manti- 12:00 p.m.
Union High School:
#3 Union VS #14 Summit Academy- 10:00 a.m.
#6 Richfield VS #11 American Leadership- 12:30 p.m.
Judge Memorial High School:
#2 Judge Memorial VS #15 North Sanpete- 10:00 a.m.
#7 Providence Hall VS #10 Delta- 12:30 p.m.
The 12 remaining teams will travel north to Salt Lake Community College on Thursday, May 13. The double-elimination format will continue throughout the weekend, with a state champion being crowned on Saturday.
