Kade Dimick of Carbon High School was named Most Valuable Player for the Senior 3A All-Star game that took place in Price on Saturday. Marking the final game of their high school careers, Dimick pitched two shutout innings and added an RBI and a run and along with his Carbon team mates Cooper Schade and Derek Robison helped their team win the contest 12-10.

The game was exactly what you would expect in an all-star game going back and forth throughout. The Visiting team with players from Carbon would open up a 5-0 lead in the top of the second only to see that lead evaporate as the opposing team would reclaim the lead 6-5.  Down 9-10, the visitors used a three run seventh inning to put their opposition away for good with Dimick closing out the final inning.

Kyler Nilson of Judge Memorial added a double and collected two RBIs and Hayden Suhadolc of South Summit had a triple, scoring a run and added an RBI. Schade registered one run as well. Max Robinson of Richfield was named Co-MVP of the visiting team.

As for the home team Luke Stilson and Jax Madsen were the representatives for the Emery Spartans. Dalin Ludlow of Juab High School was named Co-MVP for the home team.

Players from Carbon along with teams from Judge Memorial, Richfield, Morgan, Delta, Manti, Summit Academy, South Summit and San Juan made up the “Visiting” team and  faced off against the “Home” team consisting of players from Juab, Union, Grantsville, Providence Hall, Emery, American Leadership Academy, South Sevier, North Sanpete and Grand. All teams in the 3A classification were represented.

Before the seniors took to the field the underclassmen had their chance to take the field. Rylan Hart, Jordan Fossat and Jacob Vasquez were the Carbon contingent on the “Visiting” team with players from American Leadership, Richfield, Morgan, Delta, Manti, South Summit and San Juan and faced the “Home” team with Trevin Wakefield and Ryker Jensen of Emery and other players from Juab, Union, Grantsville Providence Hall, South Sevier, North Sanpete and Grand.

The “Home” team claimed the victory in the contest 9-8, with Rhett Wolfley a junior from Providence Hall named the games MVP. Freshman Braxton Henningson of Manti and junior Heston Jenson of Richfield were named Co-MVP’s.
