Matt Warner Chapter 1900 ECV and Helper City are pleased to host An Evening with Scrooge staring Morgan Lund on December 10 and December 11 at the Rio Theatre in Helper. Castle Country Radio was able to catch up with Morgan Lund to discuss all the details of the event.

“Well Christmas is about Christmas Carol, Dickens and my career, I’ve been in several shows, and they always do real well at Christmas time. I mean it’s a great ghost story, it’s a great story. So I edited a version of it and decided to bring it out to people and say we can use this as a fundraiser for kids and the Clampers clamped on to it and we’re doing well, and the kids are doing better than ever and the community is behind us now,” stated Lund. He has performed this event for years and it’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit this season.

This is a fundraising event for the Clampers Sub for Santa program that they host every year. “I’ve worked a lot of fundraisers and every penny, we don’t have any administrative fees at all, every penny we make goes to the kids that United Way gives us, and that’s incredible nowadays. We don’t use this for any fundraiser for the Clampers or the hall. Every penny we make goes towards the kids,” stated Lund. There will be concessions, silent auction and opportunity drawings available at the event.

There will be three shows scheduled, Friday, December 10 at 7:00 pm, with Saturday having a matinee at 2:00 pm and again an evening showing at 7:00 pm.  The Rio Theater is located at 210 South Main Street in Helper. If you are unable to attend this event but would like to make a monetary donation you can do so by visiting the Clamper Hall at 258 South Main Street in Helper.
