The Lady Panthers welcomed the No. 5 team, the Monument Valley Cougars to their gym Friday night. A slow start from the Panthers was all the Cougars needed as they would cruise to a 69-28 win moving Pinnacle to 3-15 overall.

Pinnacle (3-15, 0-5 in region and No. 20), have had their struggles this season. They did earn a win in their first contest against Utah Military Academy- Camp Williams, 44-21 on November 18. Losses to Tintic and Grand would follow and then an overtime win against American Preparatory Academy, 46-45.

Right now, they are sitting on an eight game losing streak with just three games remaining on the schedule. There is still time to put some wins together and head into the playoffs on a high note. If the playoffs were to start today they would face No. 13 Intermountain Christian.

The contest with Monument Valley was all Cougars, as they came out scoring 23 in the first quarter. The Lady Panthers put up 14 points in the half and went into the locker room down 35-14.

Coming out in the second half Pinnacle only scored five in the third and nine in the final quarter while Monument Valley would go on to score another 34 points and gathered the 69-28 win.

Pinnacle will be back on the floor on Friday when they will welcome the Whitehorse Raiders to Price. Whitehorse is No.16, with a 5-12 record overall and a region mark of 3-1. The last time these two got together was on January 20, with the Raiders taking a 73-23 win.

Game time is set for 5:30.
