Kathy Ann Hanes died peacefully in her sleep at her son Jason’s and daughter-in-law Amenda’s home on March 16, 2023.

Kathy was born September 11, 1948 in East Carbon to Russell and Nola Curtis. She lived there for most of her life. This is also where she raised her three children, in their quaint neighborhood known as “tortilla flats”. While her kids were in school, she enjoyed going to their school functions and continued doing so with her grandbabies. Kathy enjoyed many things; amongst those were fishing, camping, and sitting in front of the TV with a pint of chocolate Haagen-Dazs and a blanket in her lap, because she would freeze doing this. She loves her three kids, especially her grandbabies. She loves her dogs and her love of bunnies will never be forgotten.

Preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Nola Curtis; and her husband, Gerald Dee Hanes.

Survived by her three children, Jason Jerald, East Carbon, Utah; and his two children, Ciara Dawn and Ashton Jerald; Cody Dee, Craig, Colorado; and his two children, Chance Taylor and Nathan; and Moriah Dawn, Kansas City, Missouri; and her two children, Raigyn Moriah and Balian David; three sisters, Melody, Dee Anna “DeeDee”, Tawni; and three brothers, Brad, Kevin and Tracy.

Memorial service Monday, March 20, 2023, 1:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main St. Price, UT), where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
