Mark your calendars for Castle Country Radio’s Annual Pie Auction taking place on June 14 at 9:00 am on KARB Kickin’ Country FM 98.3 and 106.7. This event started over 20 years ago and the money raised during this event will stay local to help those fighting cancer in our area.

The Pie Auction provides $100.00 fuel cards for anyone who lives in Carbon, Emery or Grand Counties. People are eligible no matter their financial situation once a year, and the program is run by fiscal year so it goes from July 1 through the end of June. The fuel cards are issued only on Wednesdays by contacting Ann Anderson at (435) 637-1167 and individuals will be asked to answer a few general questions about treatment for the program’s records. Not only do the funds supply fuel cards but they also help with a $2,500.00 scholarship that is awarded to a student who was diagnosed with cancer before the age of 18 who wishes to continue their education after high school.

The yearly Pie Auction will take place on June 14 and only features 50 pies to auction off. Due to the short amount of on-air time for the auction approximately seven to nine minutes is spent on each pie for bidders to place their winning bid. The pies are supplied by local residents, business leaders and dignitaries and sold over the air to listeners. So, if an individual or a business who wants to donate a homemade pie, officials prefer homemade pies, they can just contact Anderson at the radio station.

If a business would like to make another type of donation such as swag, gift certificates or cash they may bring it by radio station at 1899 North Carbonville Road or contact Anderson. These types of items are then bundled with various pies to up their value for the auction. All pies that are purchased from the auction may be counted towards a tax deduction for customers’ 2023 income taxes.

If any individuals and/or businesses would like to make a donation towards the Pie Auction this year please call the radio station at (435) 637-1167 or stop by at 1899 North Carbonville Road.
