The town of Cleveland is gearing up for another fun year of Cleveland Days on Thursday, July 20 through Saturday, July 22 and everyone in the Castle Country area is invited to attend. Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Event Representative, Brydi Sharp to discuss all of the details.
Things kick off at O’Ville Pioneer Park at 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 20. “We’re going to meet down there at 6:00 pm, we’ll have a free sloppy joe dinner for anybody that shows up. We’re hoping to get some entertainment down there that night. So like you said, if there anybody, any entertainers interested in that give me a call,” stated Sharp. There will be a movie in the park to close out the evening and guests will be able to enjoy concessions as they will be sold during the movie.
On Friday, July 21 is all about the kids and there are so many fun activities planned for the afternoon. “So Kids Day runs from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at our Main Street Park and they have all kinds of booths and just fun activities set up for the kids. That is a $2.00 entry. Any kids can come to that, we don’t have an age limit this year, because you’re never too old to be a kid, so why not,” said Sharp. There will be pizza and drinks that will be covered under the $2.00 entry fee. There will be bike races taking place along with a sand volleyball tournament.
That evening there will be the famous community lamb fry taking place at 6 pm. “This is just put on, honestly, just by the residents of Cleveland in and out, of you know, our city limits. People bring potluck dishes. I do want to give a huge shout-out to our lamb owners this year, Keven Jensen, he’s awesome to donate. Jensen Ranches are donating, Rick Rasmussen is donating. This isn’t possible without people like this who are willing to donate and give of the livestock that they are raising, its so generous of them, and we just love them for this,” said Sharp. The estimated cost is $6.00 per plate or $25.00 per immediate family with pot luck dish, there will be a slight increase in price if you do not bring a potluck dish to share.
Saturday will kick off early with the flag ceremony at 6:00 am, followed by the 5K walk/run at 6:30 am. Folks will be able to enjoy breakfast in the park at 7:00 am. The kids parade will start at 10:00 am and then the grand parade will start at 10:30 am. Then head to the city park to enjoy vendors, activities, games and music all day long. Then that evening plan on getting a good spot with your lawn chairs or blanket to watch the fireworks at dusk. “We’re really famous for this, we really are. Everything down at the school will start at 6:00 pm. There will be vendors down there, and there will be music down there, and all kinds of fun stuff. Just bring your camp chair, bring your blankets, plan on coming and hanging out for the night. It’s always such a fun atmosphere. Of course, our fireworks are always the best in pretty much Utah I would say,” said Sharp.
