Know Your Script is a new program available through Four Corners Community Behavioral Health. The program focuses on knowing your prescriptions, knowing your role and what you can do to keep yourself. your community and your environment safe.
This all started last fall when the group at Four Corners originally heard about the initiative, through grant funding and were awarded the grant in the spring of this year, and through a brainstorming session came up with the idea of mobile billboards. Alyssa Potter, Prevention, Coalition Coordinator for Four Corners recently joined Castle Country Focus to talk about the concept.
“So we contacted 10 local coal miners, two of them are current, working in Carbon and Emery counties and then the others are retired from Carbon and Emery county coal mines. We got together with local photographer Janarie Cammans, and created a really cool image of our miners with their lights and their helmets on, our message is “Don’t be left in the dark, we can’t help what we don’t know, know your script.”
The mobile billboards will start appearing on the sides of select Savage trucks traveling in the area. One of the main focuses of the campaign has to do with work related injuries be it in the mines, power plants or construction and being prescribed and not understanding the risks that come along with it or even alternatives to prescriptions.
Even though they are using the workers as the face of the campaign, information is available to anyone, anonymously at the website knowyourscript.org.
Potter also took time out to thank the many community partners that made this all possible Savage Services, Scamp Excavation, USU Eastern Mine Training Department, Marketing Elevated, Janarie Cammans, Chaos Cove and Carbon County.
“There were so many hands in this and so many community partners, so thank you to anyone that had a helping hand in it.”
