Mary Evelyn Dugdale Edmunds, born on June 7, 1933, passed on December 18, 2023 at the age of 90.

Mary was born in Kamas, Utah, to Oliver Dugdale and Evelyn Prescott. Oliver passed away when Mary was six years old. As a result, she spent lots of time in Woodland, Utah, with her beloved Grandma Dugdale who lovingly called her “Trotsey Woo.” Eventually, Mary’s mother remarried, Nile Gines of Kamas, Utah, who became a loving father to Mary. Nile and Evelyn (against Mary’s wishes), moved the family to Roosevelt where she was honored to be the rodeo queen, and was a member of the first graduating class of Roosevelt High in 1950.

In 1952, Mary married W.W. Edmunds (Woody), and they became the proud parents of three children: Vickie Leo (Kenny), Brent (Gerri), and Janae Farrington (Dennis). Woody and Mary were delighted beyond measure with the birth of their first granddaughter, Michelle Mary Leo, born in 1980 on Mary’s birthday. Michelle’s birth completed the fifth generation of living women born on Mary’s side of the family. Later on, four more wonderful grandchildren were born into the family: Dallas Leo, Elise and Colton Dietz, and Ryan and Desiree Edmunds.

Mary was a wonderful homemaker with a loving heart. She filled any spare time she had sewing and was a beautiful seamstress. Her knowledge and skill of sewing led her to Price Trading’s fabric department where she continued to work for over fifteen years even when management changed.

Mary was a talented cook and her grandchildren often requested she make Sunday dinners (which she took pride in doing for her loved ones). Frequent menu requests included fried chicken, fish and chips with tartar sauce, hot rolls, roast and gravy, and her clam dip.

Upon retirement, Mary found joy and a newly discovered talent in painting ceramics at Carbon County Senior Citizen Center where she made beautiful ceramics for her friends and family.

Mary was a dedicated sibling, mother, and grandmother. She was always there when needed and her absence has created a void that will never be filled. She leaves behind her three children, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and the many chosen family members who “adopted” Mary and lovingly referred to her as “Grandma” or “Mom” including her special friends, Gerald and Janette Lloyd.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and six siblings: Billy, Gary, Robert, Brad, Dixie, and Rob, her son-in-law, Kenney Leo, many cherished aunts, uncles, and her beloved “Grandma Dug.”

Mary was always available for her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched. At Mary’s request, no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Mary online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
