It’s time once again for Castle Country Radio to catch up with Castle Dale City Mayor Danny VanWagoner about what is taking place in the city. He was eager to talk about the upcoming Beat the Winter Blues Festival taking place Jan. 26 and Jan. 27. This annual event has become a Castle Country tradition for many folks in the area.

“It’s been going on for several years. Patsy and her team at the chamber have done a great job in bringing something during the middle of winter, we there’s kind of nothing going on. This is just a fun time, they have entertainment, they have booths, food, fun, and games from all the way to your little teeny ones, to grandmas and grandpas, and which I am,” said Mayor VanWagoner. This event will be held inside the Castle Dale Recreation Center at 75 South 400 East.

Things kick off on Friday evening with lots of live entertainment, free ice skating, games and prizes for everybody to enjoy throughout the night.  “Friday is the first day, and they are going to have a BINGO Bash that’s going to start at 6:30 pm. Then also like I said, the free ice skating. There is gong to be Senior Line Dance that’s going to be from 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Then there’s going to be the Canyon View Cheer. So we get everybody included, we got the Miss Carbon County Royalty they’re going to be there from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Then Encore Dance Studio. Then like I said we got the BINGO Bash that’s happening Friday evening,” stated Mayor VanWagoner. The activities will close down at 8:00 pm, but then will be at it again on Saturday morning starting at 10:00 am and running till 3:00 pm.
