Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Benny R. Cisneros, age 93, passed away peacefully at his son’s home on March 9, 2016.
He was born May 27, 1922 in Questa, New Mexico to Nick and Julianita Quintana Cisneros. Married Julia Lopez, November 5, 1948 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in East Carbon. She passed away on January 30, 2013.
Benny honorably served his country in the US Army during WWII in the 5th Armored Division. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where he was always graciously assisting his wife in her ministries at the church. Benny was a resident of East Carbon since 1946 where he was a proud supporter of his community. He was a retired member of the United Mine Workers of America, Kaiser Steel Local # 9958 where he was respected by all. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and caring for his family. Benny will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his son, Mike (Bonnie) Cisneros, Huntington; daughter, Gloria (Larry) Sanchez, Questa, New Mexico; three grandchildren, Jeff (Val) Cisneros, Price, Jason (Tami) Cisneros, West Valley, Theresa (James) Padilla, Questa, NM; and 9 great-grandchildren, Keirstin, Dakota, Zac, Austin, Shawn, Delaney, Ashtin, Alexis, Thiago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Julia; brother, Raymond Cisneros; sisters, Corrina Ortega, Molly Medina and Velda Cisneros; and two infant sisters.
Funeral Mass, Saturday, March 12, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Good Shepherd Catholic Church in East Carbon. Vigil service Friday evening 6:00 p.m., Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Family will receive friends at the church in East Carbon Friday and Saturday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
