Two first half goals were enough to lift the Carbon Dinos past the Richfield Wildcats 2-1W in a Region 12 showdown Wednesday afternoon on the road.

Daniel Vega and Jamin Jensen both found the back of the net in the opening half as the Dinos entered the break up 2-1. The defense managed to keep Richfield off of the scoreboard in the final half of play, leading to the eventual one goal victory.

Wednesday's win moves the Dinos to 3-5-1 on the season, but more importantly 2-0 in Region 12 play. The team is currently tied with the Canyon View Falcons at the top of the standings, setting up a monumental match-up between the two teams Friday at Carbon.

The way the current region standings sit the Dinos and Falcons are the only two teams in the division with a win. North Sanpete and Richfield are both 0-1, while Juab sits at the bottom of the standings at 0-2.

Following Friday's contest against Canyon View, the Dinos will take a full week off before returning to the field to meet North Sanpete for the first time this season on April 8.
