Helen Sutton Orr passed away peacefully at 87-years-old on Friday, November 13, 2020, at her home in Price, UT. She was surrounded by her family.

Helen was born on May 13, 1933, in Grantsville, UT to Claude and Emma Stromberg Sutton. She was the sixth of seven children. She graduated from Grantsville High School in 1951 and received a bachelor’s degree in home economics with a teaching certificate from Brigham Young University (Go Cougs!). She married the love of her life, David Sidney Orr, on June 27, 1958, in the Salt Lake City temple.

Helen loved her family. She was the proud mother of four children – Colin, Susan, Patrick, and Boni; a devoted grandmother to 16 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. You could always find her playing board games or watching movies with her grandchildren. She was a fan of the ballet, the symphony, and theater. She took her family to Ballet West’s “The Nutcracker”  at the Capitol Theatre every Christmas.

She also loved to travel with her family and go on drives with her friends. She was an accomplished seamstress, cook, and baker, and she was famous for her homemade bread.

Helen also considered her church a part of her family. She was a member of the Price 8th ward and served in many leadership roles in the Relief Society and Young Women’s organizations.

Helen is survived by her children, Colin (Wanda), Susan (Larry Dawes), Patrick (Jaymie), and Boni (Roger Taylor); brother, Gary “Shorty” Sutton; 16 grandchildren, Kelly, Camilla, Ammon, Nathan, Hillary, Derek, Cassidy, Kelsey, Jaymes, Devon, Whitney, Harrison, Vanessa, Keny, David, and Lexi; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David S. Orr; son-in-law, Larry Dawes; and siblings, Claude “Junior,” John, Bill, Jacqueline “Jackie,” and Marge.

Graveside service, Wednesday, November 18, 2020, 12:00 noon, Grantsville City Cemetery (370 W Main St. Grantsville, UT, 84029). In lieu of flowers please donate to Huntsman Cancer Center, or Shriners Hospital.
