Jerrold F. Dalton was born July 13, 1928 in Salt Lake City and passed away November 12, 2020 at the age of 92 due to natural causes.

He married Norma Rich Dalton on September 1, 1948, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake City temple in 1955.

Jerrold served his country in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII on a submarine. He was a member of the Sunset 4th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many ward and stake church positions.

Jerrold enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, especially with his family. He grew up as a cowboy and spent his youth farming and herding cattle. He worked for his father-in-law in Nine Mile Canyon then moved his family to Sunset, Utah where he operated the All-O-Wheat Cereal and Flour Mill for 17 years. He then sold tools, first for Snap-On then Cornwell for 24 years. After retirement he continued working mowing lawns at Schieter’s Bluff Golf Course.

Jerrold was a man of high integrity, a role model to many, and loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his spouse and children, Lorena (Robert) Thornton, Liberty, UT, Wayne (Kim) Dalton, Layton, UT, Keven Dalton, West Haven, UT, Winette (Brad) Moss, Rifle, CO, Alene Dalton, Clearfield, UT and Cami Dalton, Sunset, UT; brother, Jack Dalton, Silver City, NM; sister, Corna O’Rafferty, Cleveland, UT; 31 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Winifred Dalton; brothers, Cecil Dalton, Orson Dalton; sisters, Clarasee Brotherson, Winona Jones Garcia; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service, Wednesday, November 18, 2020, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
