The Emery swim team took to the pool for the first time in 2021 at the Cedar Invitational and while the host team was dominant in this one, the Spartans were able to come away with a second place finish for the men and fourth place for the women.

The men’s squad came right out of the gate claiming third place in the Boys 200 yard medley relay with the team of Dax Minchey, Terry Kegley, Elias Morris and Jacob Fauver finishing with a time of 1:56.98. The team of Morris, Fauver, Minchey and Kyler Minchey took second place in the 200 yard free relay with a time of 1:44.17.

Individually, Dax Minchey added a second place finish in the 50 yard free with a time of 25.05. Kyler Minchey claimed fourth place in the 100 yard free coming in with a time of 58.26 and Elias Morris took third place in the 100 yard breaststroke completing it in 1:15.03.

For the ladies, Senior Haley Guymon claimed the top spot in the 100 yard fly finishing with a time of 1:06.10, Guymon would also claim first in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:12.99. Sydney Carter grabbed a fourth place finish in the 50 yard free at 28.29.

As for relay’s, the team of Haley Guymon, Aubrey Guymon, Abby Johansen and Sydney Carter grabbed fourth place coming in at 2:12.90 in the 200 yard medley they would also go on to take second in the 400 yard free posting a time of 4:14.81.

Emery will hit the pool in Castle Dale on Thursday the 14 as they welcome Grand.
