The Pinnacle Panther basketball team started season two under head coach Ray Jones Jr. on Friday night on the road against the Telos Titans. These two teams hooked up last year twice with Telos taking both wins. On Friday night it was unfortunately more of the same as the Titans took the 10 point win 47-37.
Last Season the Panthers finished with a 6-11 record ending the season with a second round loss to Piute 88-46.
In the game on Friday the Panthers couldn’t get started falling behind in the first half 28-19. Pinnacle came out in the second half and looked very good at times scoring 18 and holding Telos to 19 points but, the halftime lead was just too much for the Panthers to over come falling by 10 in the contest.
Senior Anthony Shumway had a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the game. Michael Schmitz had a nine point, five rebound night and Cole Barton scored nine as Ryker Howell grabbed seven rebounds in the loss.
Pinnacle will travel to Dugway on Tuesday to take on the Mustangs.
The first time the boy’s will take to the floor in Price next Friday December 3, when they will welcome Piute to town. Game time is set for 7 p.m..
