With the region swim meet coming this week in Richfield, Carbon invited three schools to the Last Chance Invitational hosted in Price last Saturday. The Carbon girls and boys teams both claimed the top spot in the meet which was attended by teams from Emery, North Summit and South Sevier.

For the Carbon girls who are seeking their fourth straight state title they finished in first followed by Emery and North Summit.

The girls earned first place finishes in eight different events. In the 200 yard medley relay the Dinos team of Ada Bradford, Tyrca Jaramillo, Mia Crompton and Alyssa Chamberlain ended with a time of 2:09.83.  Hadley Bower joined team mates Jaramillo, Crompton and Chamberlain to win the 200 yard free in 1:54.45 and Bower and Bradford were joined by Lindsie Fausett and Katelyn Bower to take the 400 yard relay with a time of 4:37.91.

Ellie Hansen took first with a time of 2:28.33 in the 200 yard free, and turning in a time of 6:45.67. Logan Odendahl grabbed second with 6:54.73.

Jaramillo took first in the 50 yard free and the 100 yard free, and Crompton took the top place in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:25.45.

On the boys side of the pool Carbon took the top spot followed by Emery, North Summit and South Sevier.

Seven different events saw the Dino boys take the win including two relays. In the 200 yard free relay the Carbon team of Nathan Engar, Boyd Bradford, Camden Chamberlain and Gabe Ibanez finished with a time of 1:43.79, the same team turned around and took the 400 yard free with a time of 3:52.72.

Chamberlain finished the 200 yard free with a time of 2:03.30 and was followed by team mates Engar and Bradford. Chamberlain and Engar also finished one and two in the 500 free with individual times of 5:45.94 and 6:02.74 respectively.

Ibanez continued his tear this season taking the top spot in the 50 yard free in a time of 24.80 and Dallin Watson finished in second with 26.85. Ibanez also finished in first in the 100 yard back with 1:06.35 and Watson claimed the top spot in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:14.24.

Up next this week is the Regional tournament in Richfield.
