
Carbon senior Braxton Stevenson, was given an Honorable Mention on Thursday when the Deseret News published their list for All-State basketball for the 3A classification. The Deseret News All-State teams are based on coaches votes from a list of nominated players.
The Dinos compiled an 8-13 overall mark which included a 2-6 Regioin 12 mark, that landed them in the No. 12 spot in the RPI, earning them a first round bye. In the second round they traveled to Morgan and the Trojans handed them a season ending 70-54 loss.
Stevenson earned his recognition by averaging 14.2 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, three assist and just under two steals per contest. This was Stevenson’s first All-State mention.
Manti’s Reggie Frischknecht, was named the 3A Player of the Year. Frischknecht averaged 13 ppg. to go along with 9 rpg. and shot 68% from the field this season helping the Templars to a 24-2 overall record including an 8-0 region mark and a win in the 3A State Championship game.
