Robert passed away at home in his own bed, as he wished, on December 15, 2022. He was born to Glen and Ethel Anderson of Huntington, Utah on February 28, 1944. He was raised in Emery County along side his two sisters and two brothers. From a young age, Bob worked alongside his dad completing new construction projects and refurbishing old mine houses in the local area. Bob learned every aspect of home construction and repair and quickly became a jack of all trades.
Bob’s next phase of life brought him to his love of cars. He was an excellent mechanic and never met an engine he couldn’t fix and wouldn’t race. You might remember him from his racing days as “Hot & Nasty #33”.
Among his many talents, Bob was also an outstanding artist. During his first semester of college, he was recognized for his abstract paintings.
Bob married Jeanne Breinholt on February 19, 1966 and was soon after drafted into the US Army. Bob and Jeanne later moved to Germany where he proudly served his country for 2.5 years. After returning home, Bob and Jeanne lived in Las Vegas where he worked at the Nevada Test Site as a schematic’s draftsman. It was in Las Vegas where they had their first of two children, Robert Matthew “Matt” Anderson. They later moved back to Utah where their second baby, Summer, was born.
Bob was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local Union #3, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator throughout the Western United States. During this time, he made many life-long union friends.
An avid outdoorsman, his love of hunting, fishing, camping and just hanging out at the desert was shared with his family and friends at every opportunity.
