The Lady Dinos were on the road Tuesday night in Roosevelt to face the Union Cougars. Looking for their first win of the season, Carbon maintained balanced scoring throughout taking the 43-41 win.

Coming off of last week’s season-opening loss to Draper APA, the Lady Dinos wanted to equal their record in the early season.

Both teams started out slowly in quarter one with Carbon taking the slight edge over the Cougars with the 10-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. The game would almost flip-flop in the second quarter with Union being a bit more aggressive holding Carbon to eight points to tie things up at 18-18 heading into the locker room at halftime.

Coming out in the second half both teams wanted to impose their will on the other as they would go back-and-forth but at the end of the third, the score would remain tied as each team would score 11 going into the fourth 29-29. The final eight minutes were worth the price of admission as Carbon and Union both weren’t ready to give up just yet as neither wanted to come away empty-handed, but when the final buzzer sounded the Lady Dinos would come out on top 43-41.

Jacie Jensen led the way for Carbon scoring 12 in the contest. Bailey Curtis tossed in nine and Blythe Bradford scored four in the win.

Carbon will get back on the court next Tuesday when the Uintah Utes will come to Price.

Game time is set for 7:00 p.m..
